Want to be part of a vibrant, creative, sex-positive, inclusive dance community? Boulder Burlesque holds auditions once a year to welcome new members of all genders and expressions into our Beginner Troupe.

Before taking the stage, all of our troupe performers complete an in depth 5-week Conscious Burlesque workshop which includes a unique combination of character development, choreography, and contemplative group process that empowers each dancer to explore and express the erotic sides of themselves to their full fruition.

What is Boulder Burlesque?

Boulder Burlesque is a performance dance troupe located in Boulder, Colorado. Our troupe combines the art of Burlesque with contemporary dance and theater to create evocative individual and group performances. Our mission is to explore sensuality and intimacy through the art of movement while celebrating the sacred human nature of sexuality. We strive to reclaim sexual expression as a sacred art, to provide healing through movement, and to gather people together who support the joy of fully embodied expression in all forms.

Who is welcome to audition for Boulder Burlesque?

We welcome all genders, identities & ages over 18 to the audition. No dance experience is required. It you have a passion for the performing arts, embodied movement, and/or a desire to explore your sexual & sensual self more deeply, you should audition for Boulder Burlesque.

What does it mean to be part of the Beginner Troupe?

You will have to opportunity to perform three nights at the annual Valentine’s show, get coaching on developing a fully formed burlesque character, learn group choreography and burlesque dance skills, build deep and connective relationships with fellow troupe members, receive one-on-one mentorship from an Advanced troupe member, take part in a professional photo shoot. participate in Boulder Burlesque parties and events, attend Conscious Burlesque workshops at a discounted rate, and so much more!
